There’s a lot you can do for free on GhanaYe:Classifieds. Sell your car or your kettle, find a new job and a place to stay. All without putting your hand in your pocket.
Sometimes you might need to pay a fee to get your ad where you want it. The amount depends on:
– whether you’re posting as a private individual or a business
– the category you’re posting in
– where you are.
You can also pay to make your ad work harder. Our features help you jump to the top of the listings, speed up your sale, or reach out further to your audience. They’re available in every category. Just pick and choose to suit your needs.
To keep the price down, you can trial your ad without features to see how you get on. Add them at a later date if you think your ad needs more oomph. Be aware though: if you add them at the start, you can’t take them off until they expire.

Adding a promotion to your ad is a quick, easy boost to get more eyes on your ad. More eyes mean more replies and a faster route to your GhanaYe:Classifieds dreams. There are more than 4 unique feature options to choose from. Once you’ve chosen the type of feature you’d like, you can apply it to your ad in only a few minutes.
To promote an existing ad:
- Open the app and tap My Account.
- Find the ad you’d like to promote and tap Promote.
- A menu will appear with the promotion options. Read the package description to learn more about each option.
- Select the promotion you want to apply. Tap the run-time that you want.
- Select your preferred payment options and agree to the terms and policy information.
- When you’re happy with your selection, tap Proceed to Payment.
To promote a new ad:
- Tap Post, then fill in your ad details. For help creating your ad, read our How to Post an Ad article.
- After tapping Post Ad, the options to promote your ad will follow.
- Tap on the promotion you want to apply.
- When you’re happy with your selection, tap Proceed to Payment.
Paying for Your Promotion
- Once in the payment screen, you can choose to pay by credit card (VISA, Mastercard or Maestro), PayPal or MoMo.
- If you’re paying through credit card, enter your card details and tap Pay Now. If you’re paying through PayPal, tap Pay with PayPal and follow the instructions.
Once your payment is processed, your features will activate.

Most services on GhanaYe: Classifieds are free. If you do want to purchase features or additions for your ads, paying is quick and convenient. You can pay for your features directly through the GhanaYe: Classifieds website or app. We accept the following payment methods on GhanaYe: Classifieds:

All payments on GhanaYe: Classifieds are processed through a secure third party payment processor. We do not store your payment information directly on GhanaYe: Classifieds. This ensures that your payment details are kept safe and secure.
Note: GhanaYe: Classifieds does not recommend the use of prepaid credit cards. These cards are not always compatible with our payment processor. While some cards are currently accepted, their compatibility can change at any time.

Features
Get the most out of GhanaYe: Classifieds by placing your ad ahead of the pack. Our Featured promotion helps you get more views by placing your ad at the top of the search results. The first 5 spots at the top of every page are reserved for Featured ads.
Featured ads can run for 15 or 30 days. During that length of time, your ad will start to appear in two places. It will still continue to move through the regular listings, but a second copy will also appear in the Featured ads section. Displaying your ad in these two sections at the same time gives it a much better chance of exposure.
How the Featured Ad Section Works
Featured ads rotate randomly to ensure that every ad gets equal visibility. Each page of search results shows up to 5 Featured ads at a time. If there are more than 5 Featured ads in the search results, a random set of 5 will be shown. Every user that visits that same page will see a different random set. When they refresh the page or move to another search page, the ads will once again be shuffled. This random rotation ensures that all Featured ads get equal opportunities to appear at the top of the first page.
Note:
- Only the copy of your ad that appears in the Featured ad section will display the Featured banner. The copy moving through the regular search results will not have the Featured banner.
- This feature does not change the position of your ad outside of the Featured ads section.

Get ahead of the game by putting your ad in front of buyers before they even look for it. Our Spotlight feature places a copy of your ad onto the homepage so that users will see it as soon as they visit GhanaYe: Classifieds. At the same time, the original copy of your ad will continue to move through the regular search results. This allows your ad to get all of the same views it would regularly, while also appearing outside of its category to local viewers.
The Spotlight feature gives your ad the opportunity to appear on the GhanaYe: Classifieds homepage for 15 or 30 days. It is available for purchase on desktop and the app (where it’s called the Homepage Gallery feature); however, Spotlight ads are not viewable from within the app.
How the Spotlight Section Works
Spotlight ads rotate randomly to ensure that every ad gets equal visibility. The GhanaYe: Classifieds homepage displays up to 8 Spotlight ads at a time. If there are more than 8 Spotlight ads within an area, a random selection of 8 will be chosen each time the page is loaded. This means that each user will see different ads on the homepage.

- Your ad must have at least one photo in order to use the Spotlight feature.
- This feature does not change the position of your ad in the regular search results.

Sometimes an old ad just needs a bit of a boost to get the attention it deserves. The Bump Up feature is a one-time refresh of old ads, making them appear new. It pushes your ad from its current position (for example, page 5) back to the first page. Being on the top page means that your ad will gain better exposure in its category and searches.
Your ad will remain at the top until another GhanaYe: Classifieds ad is posted or bumped up. As new ads are posted, it will begin to shift down. Due to this constant rotation of ads, a Bump Up won’t keep your ad on the front page indefinitely. But, in searches that use keywords or specific areas and categories, the effects of a Bump Up can last for a significant length of time.
Note:
- The Bump Up feature will reset the post date of your ad; however, it won’t extend the life of your ad.
- If you want your ad to stay at the top for a longer period of time, consider the Featured promotion.

In this day and age, most of us are busy. You’ve got family to look out for, work to do, and that new Netflix show to watch. Our Urgent feature lets other users know that you’re not looking to waste time. It places the word ‘Urgent’ on your ad in eye-catching, red lettering. Not only will it stand out in the queues, but other users will know that you’re serious about selling your item, renting your property, or filling that job opening fast.
The Urgent label runs for 7 or 30 days from the date and time of purchase. During those days, the Urgent label can be seen when your ad appears in the search results. There’s also a filter option to let users search exclusively for Urgent ads.

- This feature is intended to help your ad stand out. It does not change the position of your ad in the general listings.

Whether they’re looking to buy an item or hire your business, buyers want all the information they can get. The URL feature is the best way to direct people to additional information without copying all that information into your ad. When you apply the URL feature, it places a clickable link (hyperlink) in the seller profile section, just below the Email button. Interested users can click on the link to be taken directly to a website of your choice or to your store.
The link will appear for the lifetime of the ad – that is 30 days. If the ad is renewed, a new URL feature must be repurchased for the link to continue to appear on your ad.
Note:
- This feature is available on both desktop and mobile.
- All ads on GhanaYe: Classifieds should be offering an item, service, or job through GhanaYe: Classifieds. Ads that only direct traffic to an alternate website are against our site policies.
- URLs must be placed within the URL feature field. Please do not place your URL within the title or body of your ad, as this is against GhanaYe: Classifieds policies.
